Insulated Roof & Wall Enclosure Systems
Building Timber Frame Homes is very different from conventional homes.
When building a timber frame home, it is important to work with an experienced builder specializing in timber frame construction. There are different options for insulating and protecting a timber fame building from the elements.
When done properly and depending on the choice of materials, a timber frame home can achieve high R-values and be very energy efficient.
Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs)
Pre-manufactured Structural Insulated Panels are an excellent way to insulate timber frame homes. They are both cost effective and energy efficient and best for new constructions.
SIPs are building panels consisting of an insulated layer sandwiched between two layers of structural board. SIPs are manufactured off-site and shipped your site when ready to be installed.
Properly insulated timber frame homes separate the wood structure from the insulation, providing a quality thermal barrier with few or no thermal bridges and extremely low levels of air infiltration.
